Operation
Public Democracy connects a politician or candidate to their database via the App and provide a unique identifier which will separate and control the outgoing questions to the relevant target constituency, and collect the incoming responses, sorted back in digestible form to the relevant politician, representative or candidate.
We use video to engage viewers in the topic and to explain complex ideas rather than slabs of text . This in itself is more democratic as it overcomes some language disadvantages. Constituents viewing questions within an interactive video can respond in real time and the aggregated responses are available instantly, whilst stratified and demographically significant reporting can be provided shortly thereafter. The use of swipe gestures for voting easily from a mobile device minimizes the time it takes to participate and increases response rate in a busy time poor world.
Campaign ads can be tested in pre-release form via a unique "worm" style graphing interface as the viewer moves a finger up or down on the screen in continuous 'positive to negative' reactions to a video, allowing for a nuanced measurement of the effectiveness of a video ad (or for example movie trailer).
The results are both qualitative and quantitative and are automatically accumulated and displayed in various formats, including graphs, bar charts and ‘worms’.
The responses are linked to the originating IP address to prevent ‘vote-stacking’ but will still record all entries, thereby allowing for the correction of mistakes or for a respondent to change their mind.
